NewDelhi: 50 people have died in floods and landslides in the north-eastern states of the country in the past three days. The deaths were reported from the states of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Odisha.

Following the rains, the low-lying areas of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand were flooded. Roads were waterlogged and traffic was disrupted. The Central Meteorological Department said heavy rains will continue in the region for the next two days.

Five people missing in floods and landslides in Himachal Pradesh have not been found, officials said. On Saturday, 22 people were killed and 12 injured in the rain. More damage was reported in Mandi, Kangra and Champa districts.

36 people died in Himachal Pradesh in the last three days due to rain. Hundreds of people have been moved to relief camps. Four people died and 13 people went missing in the cloudburst that occurred in Uttarakhand on Saturday.

It is estimated that at least six people have died due to continuous rain in Odisha. About 8 lakh people were affected by the flood. Thousands of people were shifted to relief camps.
