Thiruvananthapuram: Governor Arif Mohammad Khan again criticizes Kannur VC. He reiterated that there was a conspiracy in Delhi to attack him, in which Kannur VC Gopinath Ravindran was involved. The Governor’s response was to the media in Delhi.
He came to participate in the history conference as per invitation. But there was an attempt to attack him. The conspiracy took place in Delhi. Kannur VC is also involved in this. He has sent letters thrice but in vain. The reply received was that he could not report as he was not a security expert, said the Governor. He also asked, if VC is not a criminal why he is not giving the report.
Kannur University and higher education sector are in total disarray. Will work to rectify this throughout the tenure as governor. The Supreme Court has directed all the governments to follow the UGC norms. Will not cooperate in anything that violates the Constitution, said the Governor. The bill will become a law only if the governor signs it, he added.
Everyone has the freedom of speech. Irfan Habib’s remark is seen as such. Irfan Habib is a goonda. His criticism will be accepted if needed. Unnecessary comments are usually laughed off, the Governor added.
