Kochi: The High court will consider the petition filed by Abdu Rahman, brother of journalist K.M. Basheer, demanding a CBI investigation into the incident of killing Bashir in an accident. The petition will be heard by Justice Siyadh Rahman. The prosecution and the police are helping the accused while the case against IAS officer Sriram Venkataraman is existing, alleges petition.
There is a mystery in not finding the mobile phone of Basheer, alleges the petition. ‘Basheer had two mobile phones. Only the old mobile phone was found. A Redmi phone is yet to be found. This is evidence that the police tried to help the accused’, alleges the petition.
Basheer has seen Sriram Venkataraman and Vafa Firos in suspicious circumstances near Cafe Coffee Day outlet. The footage was captured on the mobile phone. On learning this, Sriram Venkataraman tried to take the mobile. It is also alleged in the petition that the defendant had a grudge against Basheer.
