Gold worth lakhs seized from Kolkata airport

Kolkata: Customs officials caught a passenger with gold from the NSCBI airport in Kolkata. Gold worth Rs 77,21,280 was seized.
According to the customs intelligence officials, the gold was recovered after receiving secret information from the passenger who had arrived from Mumbai. Five gold pieces worth Rs 24000 were found.

Such incidents have been taking place several times around the NSCBI airport in Kolkata. Officials said gold worth crores is being illegally smuggled out of the country.
