Ernakulam: High Court to provide police security to Adani Group for completion of Vizhinjam project. Protesters can continue their strike within legal limits. Should not interrupt the construction work, said the court.
The Adani Group and the construction company approached the court citing that the project was paused due to protests. Police have been deployed in the area but are not controlling the protesters. In this situation, the Adani Group informed the court that it’s not possible to go ahead with the project. The judgment of the court came after considering all these.
Police have been instructed to provide security. The protestors are continuing their strike, including in the high security zone. Security should be provided to continue the project by shifting people from here and without any hindrance. The court also stated that the current protests cannot be accepted and had earlier clarified that the project cannot be stopped due to protests.
The protests can be held peacefully within the limits of the law, ruled the court. The protesters say that they will continue with a strong protest.
