Lucknow: The bodies of five children among those who went missing in a boat accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghazipur have been found. The boat accident took place within the limits of Reotipur police station on Wednesday evening. The boat carrying 24 people lost control and sank in the river.
Seventeen of the passengers were rescued with the help of locals, but seven were missing. The bodies of five people were recovered on Thursday during the subsequent search. Locals and fire force officials along with trained divers started searching the spot.
The bodies of Nagina Paswan (70) and Vishambhar Gaur were recovered by divers on Wednesday itself. The bodies of five children namely Sandhya Kumar (6), Anita Paswan (10), Alisa Yadav (5), Khushal Yadav (10) and Satyam (12) were recovered from the river on Thursday. The district administration has promised financial assistance to the relatives of the deceased from the Disaster Relief Fund.
