Thiruvananthapuram: M B Rajesh took oath as minister. The oath was taken at a ceremony held at Raj Bhavan. Governor Arif Mohammad Khan administered the oath.
M B Rajesh, who was the assembly speaker, was included in the cabinet after the resignation of M V Govindan, who was selected as the state secretary of the CPM. As part of this, Rajesh resigned from the post of Speaker the other day. He will get the Local Self Government and Excise departments that were handled by M V Govindan.
With the resignation of M B Rajesh, Deputy Speaker Chittayam Gopakumar will currently hold the responsibility of Speaker. A N Shamseer will be sworn in soon. It is estimated that there is a possibility of change in the departments of other ministers as well.
