Thiruvananthapuram: The LDF leaders accused in the incident of assembly ruckus during the presentation of the budget will appear in court today. Six leaders including Education Minister V Sivankutty and K T Jaleel MLA will be present. They will be heard after reading the charge sheet.
It has been decided to start the trial in the case immediately. The Thiruvananthapuram CJM Court had ordered that all the accused should be present for hearing the charge sheet. In the background of this, all the six accused are appearing in the court today.
Apart from V Sivankutty and K T Jaleel, LDF convener E P Jayarajan, C K Sadashivan and K Kunju Muhammad are the other accused in the case. They have been charged with various charges such as destruction of public property and trespassing.
Meanwhile, Minister Sivankutty had approached the High Court seeking a stay on the trial proceedings of the case. But this petition was rejected by the court. Following this the government approached the SC but no result was found.
