Malappuram: Congress leader and former minister Aryadan Muhammed (87) passed away. He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kozhikode. He had been away from political life for some time due to old-age ailments. With the death of Aryadan Muhammed, seventy years long political life came to an end.
He was the member of three Cabinets. He reached the assembly from Nilambur constituency eight times. He worked as Labor-Forest Minister in Nayanar Cabinet, Labor-Tourism Minister in A K Antony Cabinet and Power Minister in Oommen Chandy Cabinet. He is the father of director and Congress leader Aryadan Shaukat.
