Islamabad: As per reports, 1,700 people were killed and 12,800 were injured in the extensive rain and flood in Pakistan. The figures were given in the new data published by the National Disaster Management Authority.
A huge loss occurred across the nation. Among six regions 81 districts spread across the five regions are announced as disaster prone areas. By the mid of September, 33 million people were affected by the flood. A minimum of 1,481 people died and 12,720 were injured. Report says that around 7.6 million people have migrated from the country.
1.8 million houses were destroyed. The Sindh region has faced the maximum loss. The nation is about to request an additional amount of 600 million U S dollar from UNO. In order to discuss this, the nation has organized a meeting under the leadership of E D Humair Kareem, the acting secretary.
It is estimated that 3.5 million acres of agricultural crops were destroyed and more than 9, 36,000 livestock died.
