Vadodara: Police arrested 46 people in connection to a protest held at Salvi in Vadodara. More than 40 people are taken under custody too. The removal of Hindu flags to place the Islamic flags finally led to the protest. Though there are strict restrictions not to remove the Hindu flags, they forcefully removed it.
Later the police arrested 46 people over the conflict. P R Patel, the Vadodara Rural Police officer said that they tried placing the flag by saying that they too have festivals. Then the Hindus in the place also reached the location.
Officials said that the violent mob pelted stones, destroyed private vehicles and a shop. Both communities filed a petition over the incident. Police clarified that no practices to spread communal violence will be supported. P R Patel said that among the arrested, there are people from both the communities.
