Chennai: Star couple Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan have said in an affidavit given to the Tamil Nadu health department that their marriage was registered six years ago. The Tamil Nadu government is currently investigating the surrogacy case against the star couple.
In the affidavit, Nayantara states that she registered her marriage with Vignesh Sivan in 2016. The star couple has also submitted documents related to this along with the affidavit. The actress also clarified that the process for surrogacy started last December.
According to the law, surrogacy is allowed only after five years of marriage. In the event that the marriage was registered in 2016, it is clear that there is no obstacle to surrogacy for the star couple. The government is currently investigating whether there was any violation of the law.
