Geelong: Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to field against Namibia in their opening match of the Twenty20 World Cup group stage. Namibia scored a good score in the first match. Namibia scored 163 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Jan Frylinck scored 44 runs off 28 balls and J J Smith scored 31 runs off 16 balls for Namibia.
Pramod Madushan took 2 wickets for Sri Lanka. Maheesh Theekshna, Dushmantha Chameera, Chamika Karunaratne and Wanindu Hasaranga got a wicket each.
