Pune: The first case of Omicron subvariant BQ.1 has been detected in India from Pune. The new case has been tested positive following the announcement of the Maharashtra Government about the widespread of the cases. The Department of Health has given alert instructions to disease prone people including children, pregnant women, old aged people and people who undergo treatment for other diseases.
It has also been said that the BQ.1 and BQ1.1 that come under the genetic lineage of Omicron BA.5 subvariant have high chances to spread within no time. Ten percent of cases that spread in the US were BA.5 variants. Since a week, an increase of 17.7 percent has been reported from the state. More cases have been reported from Thane, Raikhat and Mumbai.
The Department of Health has given instructions to not avoid symptoms of fever and to use masks and sanitizer while in contact with the others. They were also instructed to take the booster dose vaccines on time.
