London: Rishi Sunak, who is of Indian origin, will become the Prime Minister of Britain. The Indian-born Prime Minister secured the post after former Prime Minister and Chancellor Boris Johnson withdrew from the election and Rishi received the support of 157 MPs. Former Prime Minister Boris got only the support of 57 MPs. With this, he withdrew from the election.

Rishi Sunak was the Finance Minister in Boris Johnson’s cabinet. The 42-year-old Rishi is expected to take over as prime minister on Monday. Once this is implemented, Rishi Sunak will become the first Indian to hold the post of Prime Minister in the UK.

Meanwhile, former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson responded that he is ready to contest and win the upcoming 2024 general election. Without a unified party in Parliament, effective governance cannot be achieved. He is far behind former finance minister Rishi Sunak. So there is no intention to proceed with the nomination. Boris Johnson said in a statement that he is ready to provide all kinds of support to the winners.

Meanwhile, Rishi started his official campaign with the declaration that he wanted to unite the country and straighten out the economy. Britain’s recently resigned Home Secretary Suella Braverman has come out in support of Sunak.

Liz Truss was the leader who resigned after only 45 days as Prime Minister. After her resignation, everyone supported Rishi Sunak of the Conservative Party. Earlier, Rishi Sunak lost the post of Prime Minister by only 21,000 votes. Everyone is hoping that former finance minister and economist Rishi Sunak will be able to find a solution to the current financial crisis in the UK.
