Palakkad: Former branch secretary of CPM arrested while selling foreign liquor. Cherpulassery branch member Suresh Babu was arrested. 270 liters of foreign liquor was seized from him.
The foreign liquor was seized from the car parked in front of his house in Cherpulassery. 270 liters of liquor was stored in 600 liquor bottles. Suresh Babu and his friends Pramod and Abdul Hakeem were taken into police custody in the incident.
The police said that the leader of the group that sells liquor at high prices has been arrested. The group’s aim was to bring foreign liquor from Mahe and sell it in Attapadi. Police said that for the past several years, alcohol were being sold in different parts of Attapadi in such high prices.
