Pathanamthitta: The police is ready to file a charge sheet within 90 days in the Elanthoor double murder case. But the delay in DNA test results will affect the investigation.

If the charge sheet is not filed within 90 days, the accused will get natural bail. But even though the investigation should be completed and the charge sheet filed, evidence still needs to be collected. The mobile phones of the murdered Padma and Roslie and the silver anklet on Padma’s leg are to be found. Apart from Mohammad Shafi, Laila and Bhagwal Singh, it is not clear whether there are more people involved.

The investigation was affected by not getting accurate information from Shafi, who has been involved in criminal activities for years, and Shafi hiding many things. Along with this, the investigation has to be carried out focusing on the results of the DNA test. But it will take some time to get the DNA test report from Thiruvananthapuram Forensic Science Lab. Kochi City Police Commissioner C H Nagaraju has directed the lab to complete the test quickly and hand over the DNA report. It is expected that the results of the DNA test will be available by November 28. Further investigation will be done based on this.
