Kannur: Alan Shuhaib, who was in jail under UAPA, was taken into custody by the police on a complaint of ragging. Alan was arrested by the police following a clash at the Kannur Palayad campus. The SFI alleges that Alan ragged the first year student. Subsequently, Dharmadam police took Alan Shuhaib into custody.
The conflict broke out in Palayad campus this morning. There was an attack between two groups of students. The police explained that the problem related to last year’s ragging led to the conflict. On the other hand, Alan Shuhaib has alleged that the SFI activists beaten him up without any reason. He said the ragging complaint was fake and SFI was taking revenge.
The SFI claims that the first-year student was ragged by a group led by Alan, and when they went to question him, there arose a problem. This resulted in conflict. SFI also said that a student named Athin, who was injured during the conflict, is undergoing treatment.
