New Delhi: The Top Court upheld the death sentence of the Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist who carried out the terrorist attack. The court also rejected the review petition filed by him.
The Delhi High Court pronounced capital punishment to Arif in the case. Against this, Arif approached the Supreme Court with a review petition. The petition was before the bench headed by Chief Justice U.U Lalit. The court stated that based on the evidence, Arif was found to have committed the crime. The Supreme Court also stated that the review petition is rejected.
He attacked the Red Fort in December 2000. Three soldiers of Rajput Rifles lost their lives in the incident. Muhammad, who was arrested in this, was sentenced to death by the High Court in 2014. Committing murder and calling for sedition against India are the charges against him on the verdict.
