Lucknow: The court ordered death sentence to the accused in the case of molesting a minor girl in Uttar Pradesh. The Pratapgarh Special POCSO Court awarded the death penalty to the two accused. In addition to this, a fine of Rs 50,000 was also imposed.
The court sentenced Halim and Rizwan, natives of Pratapgarh. After brutally torturing an 11-year-old girl, they were trying to kill her. There was a third suspect. The case of this accused was transferred to the Juvenile Justice Court as he is a minor.
The incident took place on December 27, 2021. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had stated that after the arrest of the accused, they will be given strict punishment. The trial in the case has been completed in 11 months and the judgment has been pronounced. The hearing was completed on October 21.
