Palakkad: CBI formed a new team to investigate the case of the sibling girls death in Walayar. The investigation is headed by CBI Kochi Unit DySP V S Uma. The court ordered the investigation to end within three months.
The Palakkad Special POCSO court ordered for a further investigation due to the lack of evidence given in the charge sheet under the leadership of CBI Special Crime Cell Officer. There was a criticism that the evidence mentioned in the charge sheet of CBI is the same as that in crime branch’s charge sheet.
Earlier the mother of the victims requested for further investigation by an officer from outside the state. She gave an appeal to the CBI Director and Union Home Minister based on this. Following this, the court ordered to hand over the case to a new team.
