Explosion in cracker shop in Tamil Nadu; 5 died

Chennai: Fire broke out at a crackers production centre in Madura, Tamil Nadu. Five succumbed to death.

The accident took place at around 2 pm today. The explosives burst out with a loud noise after the fire. The reason behind the accident is not found yet. Three buildings which were used to store the explosives collapsed.

There were 15 people inside the shop during the accident. It is informed that the condition of some among the injured is severe. So the death toll is likely to rise again. The primary information is that there are women among the dead. Efforts are continuing to identify the deceased ones.
