Maharashtra: The selection committee of Prof. Yeshwantrao Kelkar Yuva Puraskar 2022 has selected Nandkumar Palwe, a resident of Buldhana (Maharashtra), for this year’s Yuva Puraskar. The selection committee has honoured him with this award for his commendable work of rehabilitating destitute and mentally challenged people aiding them with nutrition, healthcare and affection. The aim of “Seva Sankalp Pratisthan” in Palaskhed Sankalp village of Buldhana District of Maharashtra is “Chala Zara Vegala Jaguya”, which means “Let’s live a bit differently” and through this medium, they do this unique work. He will be given this award at the 68th National Conference of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad in Jaipur (25th -27th November).
This award was started in 1991 and is presented in memory of Prof. Yeshwantrao Kelkar, who is also known as the architect of the organization and is remembered for playing an important role in extending the work of the organization. This award is a joint initiative of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and Vidhyarthi Nidhi Nyas; which are organizations dedicated to the work in the field of education and the betterment of students.
The objective of this award is to highlight the work of young social entrepreneurs, encourage them as well as express gratitude towards them and inspire young Indians to get embodied in social work. The award consists of an amount of rupees 1,00,000/-, a certificate and a memento.
Nand Kumar Palwe and his associates have done many services including the performing the last rites of the dead bodies found in destitute conditions and the district general hospitals in the last five years. The personal hygiene, food arrangements and healthcare arrangements of the volunteers are also taken care of.
ABVP’s National President Prof. Chhaganbhai Patel, National General Secretary Nidhi Tripathi and National Organising Secretary Ashish Chauhan have extended their heartiest congratulations to the award winner and have wished him success in future endeavours.
