Sannidhanam: The doors of the hill top shrine Sabarimala was opened this evening for two month long pilgrimage. The doors of the sanctum sanctorum was opened by the the chief priest N Parameswaran Namboothiri in the presence of priest ( thanthri) Kandararu Rajeevaru. Devaswom Board President K Ananthagopan was also present at sannidhanam to witness the divine moment.
This year’s season being the first after Covid restrictions, huge flow of devotees is expected. During the first day of the season today, tens of thousands of devotees thronged Sabarimala.
Though there is no restriction to visit the temple, virtual queue booking is mandatory. More than 60,000 pilgrims had booked for darsan in the first day itself. And in holidays, over 80,000 virtual queue bookings are recorded.
