Jakarta: Ridwan Kamil, the governor of Java confirmed that the death toll reached 162 in the earthquake that occurred in Indonesia. It is also reported that more than 1000 people got injured.
The earthquake that shook Indonesia has marked 5.6 on the richter scale. It is said that many people are still stranded under the reminiscences. The local media reported that the death tolls and the number of people injured are likely to rise.
The interruption occurred in the power supply after the earthquake delayed the rescue services and treatments. The Government said that power supply has been partially restored in some places.
The Sianjur region is mostly affected by the earthquake. International media reports that the treatment is being conducted in temporary tents due to space constraints in most hospitals.
