Kochi: Customs arrested Barkatullah and Syed Abu Tahir, who tried to smuggle gold at Nedumbassery Airport. Customs blocked the attempt to smuggle gold worth rupees two and half crore in capsule form.
Syed Abu Tahir and Barkatullah, natives of Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu, took tickets under fake names. They were captured through strict surveillance and arrested.
On the other day, six kilograms of gold was seized from a passenger who arrived in Indigo Flight from Mali.
