Thiruvananthapuram: Conflict in Vizhinjam where the fishermen intensified their strike. The conflict started after the Adani Group announced that it would resume construction work today. Police were deployed at the spot. Massive protests continue in the area.
After the vehicles arrived with the construction materials, people started protesting and stopped the vehicles. Around 10 lorries have been blocked by them. They are protesting by lying in front of the lorry. The current stance of the strike committee is that no matter what happens, they will not back down from the strike. The Latin Archdiocese has also stated that it cannot accept the High Court verdict.
Adani Group had sent a letter to the state government informing that the construction work will resume in Vizhinjam today. The Adani Group had informed the High Court yesterday that the construction work in Vizhinjam is still paused even after 100 days after the police protection order.
