Thiruvananthapuram: Latin Archdiocese has justified the attack took place in Vizhinjam, in the all- party meet held today. Father Eugine Pereira accused that the root cause of the clash was from the police.
Police had taken those who reached station into custody illegally. The response from the anti port protestors was natural. Though discussions and opinions were raised in the all- party meet, the result is not known, added Eugine Pereira.
Meanwhile, the all -party meeting convened by the District Collector failed to reach any conclusion. Minister G R Anil told media that a general decision is made not to spread the riot. All others except the protesters extended their support to move forward with Vizhinjam Seaport project, said the minister.
BJP alleged that the district administration and the police failed to suppress the riot that has been taking place in Vizhinjam for the past two days. The construction of the port should not be disrupted even for an hour. Strict action must be taken against the attackers and the High Court verdict must be implemented, said the BJP in the all-party meet.
