Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has stated his response for the first time in connection with the Vizhinjam issues. The anti-port protesters attacked the police station and unleashed attack. Pinarayi Vijayan praised the police for their smooth handling of the station attack.
Protesters had clear conspiracy to disrupt peace of the State. They attacked police and police station. On the other hand, police dealt the crucial situation in a controlled way. Appreciation for the police force, stated the CM.
The Home Department has surfaced to respond over the Vizhinjam riot for the first time today. Around 40 cops were injured and several police vehicles damaged in the protesters attack. In the detailed enquiry it was found that the riot has terror links.
Meanwhile, the DGP has informed that terrorists’ presence will be thoroughly checked. CCTV visuals will be inspected and further steps will be taken once the investigation is completed, added the DGP.
