New Delhi: The FCRI license of Rajiv Gandhi foundation has been cancelled by the Central Ministry of Home Affairs. The action has been taken after knowing that the foundation had received money from the Chinese embassy.

Former PM Dr Manmohan Singh, Former minister P. Chidambaram, Financial expert Montek Singh Aluvaliya, Journalist Suman Dubey and Rahul Gandhi were the members of the foundation that formed in October 1991.

Last day, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation received Rs 1.35 crore from the Chinese Embassy during the period 2005-2007. The Union Home Ministry said that the foundation claimed that this money was used for discovering ways to improve India-China relations.

Last day, Union Home Minister Amit Shah came up against the foundation over receiving funds from China. He openly said that the Congress-Communist political leadership, that provided all the help to China for ages, has accepted unwanted help.

Amit Shah said that Zakir Naik, a spokesman for Islamic terrorism, who handed over 50 lakhs to the foundation, was also an important part of the irregularities found in 2011. He also said that it is necessary to find out the intention behind the funding.
