Kantara, directed by Rishabh Shetty was one of the biggest hits of 2022. The film which was released with an investment of 16 crores earned around 400 crores. Rishabh Shetty’s Kantara managed to surpass even the big-budget KGF 2’s collection. Kantara was the magic of myth, earth, and man. The film, which transports the audience to another world, has received huge applause. The audience demanded that the movie should definitely be considered for Oscar nomination. Now, Homballe Films co-founder Vijay Kirangandur has confirmed that Kantara has also submitted an application for the 2023 Oscars.
“We have submitted an Oscar application for Kantara. The wait continues as the final nominations are yet to come. Kantara is a deep story. We hope that it will find a voice all over the world,” said Vijay Kirangandur.
The producer also responded about the second part of Kantara. ‘Happy with the great reception for Kantara. There are plans to make a prequel or a sequel to the film. The matter will be discussed with Rishabh Shetty and a decision will be taken soon. But it is not possible to tell its timeline now,’ said Vijay Kirangandur.
