New Delhi: Reports say that the Supreme Court of India denied a petition challenging the certification given to The Kerala Story. The movie is slated to be released tomorrow. Chief Justice DY Chandrachud said that the movie is already certified by the CBFC.
The bench comprising the Chief Justice and Justices PS Narasimha and JB Pardiwala said, “You must think of the actors, producer…they have all put in their labor. You must be very careful about staying films. The market will decide if it is not up to the mark…We are not inclined.”
Advocate Huzefa Ahmadi, who appeared for the petitioner, said that the acting Chief Justice of Kerala High Court said he will assign a bench but the bench was not available. Ahmadi said that the bench was constituted but the matter can be taken tomorrow only.
The Supreme Court had yesterday refused to accept the pleas related to the movie and instructed the petitioners to approach the jurisdictional high court.
