Kottayam: ABVP State Secretary NCT Srihari after visiting the home of slain doctor, Vandana, said that the government must implement Hospital Protection Bill immediately. He also said that the issues of the medical students must be solved as soon as possible and added that if it is not met, the organization will go for strike.

Srihari revealed that his organization had a discussion with the medical students about the strike. He was speaking to the media after visiting Vandana’s home and speaking to her father.

ABVP State Joint Secretary, S Aravind, Kottayam District President, Sanadan OS, District Secretary Sreeraj, and State Committee member Parvati also accompanied him.

Dr. Vandana was killed by an accused in the presence of police officers while the doctor was tending to his wound at the Kottarakkara Taluk Hospital. This murder sparked huge protests in the state and many criticized the inefficiency of the police in preventing such a dastardly act. Doctors and medical workers have been frequently coming under attack. The medical fraternity has been demanding more protection from such attacks.
