ERNAKULAM: Pakistan national who was arrested by NCB during the seizure of 2,525 kg methamphetamine from a ship off Kerala coast, will be produced in court today. The investigation team will submit an application in the court to get him into custody for detailed interrogation to know the source of the drugs.
The investigation on one of the biggest drug busts in the country is focused around international drug gangs. The assistance of international intelligence agencies will also be sought for the probe. Drugs worth Rs 25,000 crore were seized from the boat. It is reported that the boat set sail from Makran coast near Iran-Pakistan border. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) is of the conclusion that more people were on the ship.
The investigation to find the source of the drugs has started. It is indicated that the drugs were smuggled from Pakistan. NCB hopes that more details regarding the persons behind this will be received after detailed interrogation of the Pakistan national. After taking him into custody, he will be brought to Delhi for further questioning.
