RSS rejects with disdain the Travancore Devaswom Board’s circular to stop RSS activities in temple premises

Thiruvananthapuram: RSS Pranth Karyakarini Sadasya, Kha Bha Surendran, has rejected with disdain, the circular issued by Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) to curb RSS activities in temples governed by TDB. In a scathing reply he said that RSS activities is not centred around temples but its work is centred around the society.

Kha Bha Surendran said that in the past, Chief Ministers like K Karunakaran, had tried to block the RSS activities. However, nothing had happened to RSS Shakas.

The RSS leader said that the government is trying to project itself as fighting against RSS through this circular. It is a ploy to consolidate Muslim votes in the government’s favour. The left government is trying to capture the appreciation of jihadis and their own cadres. The move is also to divert attention from the corruption allegations levelled against the government.

The TDB had earlier issued an order banning RSS Shakas in temples. The circular follows this order by the devaswom board.

The circular says that if the temple premises are used for some other purposes other than temple activities, then it must be reported to the higher officials. The circular also warns that action will be taken against board officials if they do not take action against Shaka activities.
