‘Sradha was killed by the self-financing college’s management’; says NCT Sree Hari; ABVP representatives visit Sradha’s home

Kottayam: ABVP state secretary NCT Sree Hari visited the parents of student Sradha, who committed suicide in Amal Jyothi College, Kanjirappalli. It was in their home that Sreehari visited Sradha’s parents and also shared information about the visit through social media. “I visited Sradh’s house and spoke to her father and relatives. If Dr.Vandana was a victim of the legal system, Sradha was killed by self-financing college management”, he said.

“Even after three days, the college authorities kept silent on this issue. There have been no efficient actions taken by the police yet. The police are not yet ready to question Mr. Anoop, the department head of the college. If enough actions are not taken against the teachers of Amal Jyothi, the functioning of the college will not be allowed to go ahead”, Sree Hari said through social media. He also added that he would provide all possible help to Sradha’s family and would invite the governor’s attention to this matter.

Sradha was a second year food technology student at Amal Jyothi Engineering College, Kanjirappalli. The student committed suicide because of the mental harassment from the college management. It is alleged that the teachers mentally tortured the student for using a mobile phone in the college lab. Sradha was found hanging inside the college hostel around 9 p.m. after the incident. Amal Jyothi College has been closed indefinitely, and students have been instructed to vacate the hostel.
