Uttar Pradesh: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath brushed off Priyanka Gandhi’s entry into politics as an internal matter of the Congress party and said it will not influence BJP’s prospects in the Lok Sabha elections.
He reminded that the scion of Gandhi family had campaigned for the Congress earlier also on the behalf of her mother and brother.
The Chief Minister said, “The Congress has made her its general secretary this time. It is an internal matter of that party. Earlier too she had campaigned for the Congress. This time also it will make no difference.”
Yogi also dubbed the new SP-BSP alliance as a “false alarm” and said that the allies were already involved in disputes.
The Congress is facing a tough challenge in Uttar Pradesh against the ruling BJP. Though the party desperately tried to stitch an alliance with the SP and BSP, both the SP and BSP made it clear that they were not ready for an alliance with the grand old party.
