Chennai: Seat sharing among NDA constituents in Tamil Nadu has been announced for the Lok Sabha election. While the BJP will contest in 5 seats, the AIADMK has decided to field its candidates in 20 constituencies.
The announcement was made today at a joint press conference by BJP, AIADMK, DMDK, and PMK.
The Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam said that BJP will fight the elections from Kanyakumari, Sivagangai, Coimbatore, Thoothukudi and Ramanathapuram. He also said that the candidates for each seat will be announced soon.
He said that the 20 seats AIADMK will contest from are Salem, Namakkal, Krishnagiri, Erode, Karur, Thiruppur, Pollachi, Arani, Thiruvannamalai, Chidambaram, Perambalur, Theni, Madurai, Nilagiri, Tirunelveli, Nagapattinam, Mayiladururai, Thiruvallur, Chennai south, Perambalur.
O. Panneerselvam continued, “PMK to contest on Lok Sabha seats of Dharmapuri, Viluppuram, Arakkonam, Chennai Central, Dindigul, Sriperumbudur and Cuddalore. DMDK to contest on Kallakurichi, Tiruchirappalli, Chennai North, Virudunagar. All India NR Congress at Puducherry,”
Elections to the 39 Parliamentary constituencies in Tamil Nadu will be held on April 18 and the results will be out on May 23.
