BJP State President Surendran slams CPI (M) for opposing UCC and creating religious polarisation

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP State President K. Surendran strongly condemns the seminars organized by the CPI (M) against the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). He asserts that the CPM is conducting these seminars to stimulate religious fundamentalists. Surendran also highlights the irony of the CPI (M) opposing the UCC when there isn’t even a draft available. The Muslim League has recognized the CPI (M)’s propaganda tactics.

This opposition to the UCC primarily affects the CPI (M) itself. It is widely known that the CPI (M) previously welcomed the UCC but has now changed its stance to form an alliance with the Muslim League.

As a result, the CPM’s strategy of creating polarization will not yield the same benefits as before. Surendran asserts that not all minority religions oppose the UCC.

Furthermore, he strongly criticizes the Chief Minister for staying silent on initiating action against Christian priests.

The LDF government appears to be more interested in launching extensive campaigns against the UCC rather than addressing the issues faced by the common people. Surendran accuses the government of failing to recruit an adequate number of employees in the health department, particularly during a time when contagious diseases are on the rise.

Furthermore, he claims that even the Cabinet ministers are unaware of decisions made by the ministry. There is a lack of coordination between the ministers and the Chief Minister according to Surendran. Consequently, he demands the resignation of the Chief Minister and suggests appointing a replacement.
