MALAPPURAM: Former Supreme Court Justice Markandeya Katju has written a letter to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan expressing his concerns about the plus one seat crisis in Malappuram.

In the letter, Katju urged the Chief Minister to address the seat issue promptly, stating that failure to do so should result in the Chief Minister’s resignation. Additionally, Katju warned of taking strict action against the government if a satisfactory solution is not found, emphasizing that the government will face dire consequences if the letter goes unanswered.

During his recent visit to Malappuram, Katju discovered that many students who achieved high marks in the SSLC examination are currently unable to access plus one admission facilities in Malappuram. Katju called upon the Chief Minister of Kerala to promptly resolve this issue to ensure that aspiring doctors and engineers are not deprived of the opportunity to pursue their ambitions.

At a forum where he was accompanied by Speaker AN Shamseer, Katju strongly criticized the government’s handling of the plus one seat crisis. He openly stated that those unable to solve the problem should resign and leave their positions.

Katju also expressed his intention to campaign against the government in the next election if the issue remains unresolved.

Furthermore, Katju condemned the prolonged plus one admission process, describing it as a grave injustice to children.
