Varkala: A woman was brutally murdered by the brothers of her deceased husband in a quarrel for land. The woman, Leenamani (56) was a resident of Kallathara in Varkala. The police have begun a search for the accused Ahad, Muhasin, and Shaji.
The incident occurred on Sunday morning. It is reported that Leenamani’s husband, Siyad, died one-and-a-half years ago. After Siyad’s death, his brothers tried to get his assets.
A case related to this is already pending in court.
The report said that one month ago, one of the accused, Ahad, and his family forcefully began residing at Leenamani’s house. However, the other day the court had ordered protection for Leenamani. It is believed the quarrel that followed led to her murder.
