Film actors, including Suresh Gopi, pay heartfelt tribute to Chandy

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former Member of Parliament and renowned actor, Suresh Gopi, has paid heartfelt homage to the revered leader Oommen Chandy, expressing his condolences on Facebook. The news of Oommen Chandy’s passing has also moved other prominent actors in the Malayalam film industry, who took to their social media pages to express their grief.

Oommen Chandy, a distinguished politician, served as the Chief Minister of the state for an illustrious seven-year term and holds the remarkable distinction of representing the Puthupally constituency as an MLA for over half a century.

Kunchacko Boban, one of the film industry’s notable figures, shared a touching tribute on his social media page, highlighting Oommen Chandy’s popularity in Kerala politics and praising his selfless demeanor in both public and private life. The loss of such an esteemed leader is deeply felt by the people of Kerala and personally impacts Kunchacko Boban.

Actor Dileep extends his condolences to the politician’s family, while fellow actors like Indrajith Sukumaran, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Nivin Pauly, and Tovino Thomas pay their heartfelt tributes on Facebook.

The mortal remains of Oommen Chandy are expected to arrive in Thiruvananthapuram around 1.30 pm today. The body will be first kept at the Congress state committee office and later at the Durbar Hall of the state government secretariat, allowing the public to pay their last respects. The funeral services are scheduled to be held at Puthupally church on Thursday at 2 pm. This final farewell will be a solemn moment as the nation bids adieu to a beloved leader and public servant.
