New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has taken an organised approach to coordinate efforts with its 430 NDA MPs, categorising them into 11 groups. Each group will have separate meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi from July 31 to August 10, with senior party leaders like Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, and JP Nadda in attendance. The aim is to foster greater coherence and synergy in the poll efforts of the ruling alliance ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

The first two groups, consisting of 83 MPs from western Uttar Pradesh, Bundelkhand, Braj, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha, will meet PM Modi on July 31. The third and fourth groups, comprising 96 MPs from various regions including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Puducherry, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Lakshadweep, will have meetings on August 2.

On August 3, the fifth and sixth groups, with 63 MPs from Bihar, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh, will meet the Prime Minister. Two groups from Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Goa, totaling 76 MPs, are expected to meet PM Modi on August 8.

On the same day, two groups from Rajasthan will meet PM Modi in the evening, with 28 MPs in attendance. On August 9, separate meetings will be held with MPs from Gujarat, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman, Diu, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram, Meghalaya, and Tripura. The BJP intends to utilise these meetings to reach out to people regarding the government’s welfare schemes and prepare for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

The MPs will discuss the progress of central government schemes in their constituencies and the assistance they require to strengthen their connection with the public. This initiative involves the participation of 21 Union ministers as hosts, overseeing preparations for these cluster meetings, along with in-charge MPs of clusters and 52 BJP office-bearers.

This region-wise interaction with NDA MPs is a first and underscores the BJP’s strategic approach to secure 50% vote share in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The party aims to work closely on the 160 identified constituencies considered weaker areas. The meetings will also include a dinner session with the Prime Minister, continuing from the last meeting with NDA allies in Delhi on July 18.
