BJP to take legal action against Congress for pursuing a conspiracy-driven election campaign

New Delhi: Congress moves to hit BJP with videos that they claim to be ‘sting operations’ is about to face a big backlash in the form of legal notices. Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that BJP will initiate legal action against the ‘conspiracy-driven election campaign” of the Congress.

The Union Minister said that the BJP will take to court all the institutions and individuals who are part of the conspiracy to defame the BJP.

The Congress showed a video of a BJP worker exchanging banned notes with new denominations for a sum. The video was only shown through TNN World, a website-based news portal.

Interestingly, this website showed Congress leader Kapil Sibal’s press conference on EVM in January. However, the press conference soon turned into a flop show because the Congress could not furnish any substantial proofs about it and no major news media followed it up.

Nirmala Sitharaman thanked the media for not giving more than a minute for their conspiracy-driven campaign. She also said that the website was registered in December 2018 and the Congress might be planning to close it after elections.

Congress has been trying to defame the BJP on many fronts fearing the high popularity of Narendra Modi. However, the party has stooped to a new low by showing videos of corruption without any strong proofs to substantiate their claims.
