Thiruvananthapuram: Police has submitted to the court a 1050-page charge sheet in the Dr. Vandana murder case. In the charge sheet, it is said that the accused Sandeep stabbed Vandana with the intention to kill her.
The charge sheet was submitted by Kollam Dy.SP, MM Jose. A special team of eleven led by MM Jose had investigated the shocking murder case and has now submitted the charge sheet.
One of the major finding as cited in the charge sheet says that Sandeep, a habitual drunkard, committed the murder deliberately and was fully aware of the gravity of the crime. In the 1050 pages charge sheet, the statements of 136 witnesses are recorded. Those present there at the time of the crime including doctors, nurses, and police officers who were attacked by Sandeep are registered as witnesses in the charge sheet.
Dr. Vandana was stabbed to death by Sandeep on May 10 at the Kottarakkara Taluk Hospital. The accused was brought to the hospital by the police for a medical treatment. While Dr. Vandana was treating the accused, he attacked with a scissors and stabbed her multiple times resulting in the doctor’s death.
The police completed the investigation and submitted the charge sheet after 84 days of investigation. After examining the charge sheet, the court will decide on the procedures for the trial.
In Sandeep’s bail plea, he had argued that the attack was a sudden reaction. However, the investigation team’s findings refute that argument as per the charge sheet submitted in the court.
