Death threat against former ISRO chief Madhavan Nair from JeM?

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala police have stepped up their investigations into a death-threat case against the former ISRO chief G. Madhavan Nair for supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Reports say that the letter mentions the name of Jaish-e-Mohammad terror group. The letter, which was received two days back has the police hot on the trail to identify the sender.

An official said, “The death threat came in a letter, mentions the name of the Jaish-e-Mohammad terror group. It has now been sent for a high-profile forensic examination and the test results are awaited. The police have already registered a case and detailed investigations are going on by multiple probe teams of the Kerala Police.”

G. Madhavan Nair had an illustrious career with the Indian space organization and had a pivotal role in developing the cryogenic engine for the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle.

He is the winner of two of India’s highest honours – the Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan. He is credited for establishing the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology in Thiruvananthapuram

Last year the scientist had joined the BJP.
