Kochi: A shocking revelation has emerged in the NIA’s investigation of the IS terror case in Kerala. The arrested accused revealed to the investigating officers that their planned terrorist attacks were intended as a response to the PFI ban. During interrogation by the NIA, the terrorists revealed that their aim was to carry out terrorist activities to warn the governments. The plan was to execute an attack in Kerala, similar to the Bengaluru blast project.

The individuals involved in the IS activities in Kerala were identified as members of the Popular Front, and they orchestrated the blasts within the state subsequent to the PFI ban. The intention behind these explosions was intended as a response to the PFI ban. The terrorists formulated strategies to create fear among the public, leading to loss of life, and to provoke discussions surrounding the PFI ban. To facilitate this, the terrorists underwent training in the handling of weapons and explosives in Kerala and nearby states.

The plans of the terrorist came to naught after the capture of IS terrorist Ashif from Sathyamangalam forest area in Tamil Nadu. All those arrested and under surveillance were active activists of the Popular Front of India and religious terror organization. NIA is trying to collect important information from Shias Siddique, a native of Kattur in Thrissur, who was arrested last day in the IS case and Nabeel, the second accused who is yet to be apprehended.
