THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) Regional Representative Conference convened at the Muvattupuzha Urban Bank Auditorium, with the inauguration led by KS Shyamjith, BMS Ernakulam District Treasurer, and presided over by President Ajeesh Rakad.

President Ajeesh emphasized that BMS is an organization dedicated to worker’s rights and guided by nationalistic ideals for India’s comprehensive development. He further highlighted the escalating unemployment and turmoil in Kerala, urging the state government to address its negligence towards workers. He emphasized that recognizing workers as integral to the state’s development is imperative.

Ajeesh drew attention to incidents occurring in Kerala, where relatives political party leaders secure government positions through covert backdoor appointments. In his inaugural speech, he announced BMS’s intention to lead robust protest programs in the imminent future, championing worker’s rights.

During the conference, BMS outlined its demand that workers registered under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme be compensated Rs 666. This demand is derived from combining the state government’s contribution of Rs 333 with the central government’s wage payment.

Furthermore, the resolution endorsed the inclusion of farming and harvesting within the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. The resolution also called for immediate implementation of the Pinarayi government’s employment guarantee pension and welfare fund.

Regional Joint Secretary Deepu Narayanan conveyed his gratitude during the conference proceedings.
