THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Jaick C Thomas, the LDF candidate for the Puthuppally by-election, officially submitted his nomination papers on Wednesday. The submission took place at the office of the Kottayam Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO). Accompanied by prominent figures including LDF convener EP Jayarajan, CPM state secretary MV Govindan, minister VN Vasavan, MLA Kadannappalli Ramachandran, K Anil Kumar, and others, Jaick was escorted to the RDO office by the DYFI central committee members.
Following the nomination submission, Jaick addressed the media and issued a challenge to the Congress party for an open debate concerning the development of the Puthuppally constituency. He further asserted that Congress was aligning itself with the BJP. Meanwhile, the Congress party has alleged that CPI (M) leader Jaick C Thomas is involved in an illegal property acquisition.
On the horizon, UDF’s Chandy Oommen and NDA’s Lijinlal are slated to file their nomination papers on Thursday. Both candidates are scheduled to submit their papers to the Pampady Block Development Officer (BDO) at 11:30 am.
