Lucknow: In a significant breakthrough, the Uttar Pradesh Police have successfully apprehended five individuals suspected of being associated with a banned Maoist organisation, shedding light on their alleged involvement in various terrorist activities. The group, including prominent women brigade leader Tara Devi, was nabbed during a police operation in Basant Pur village, Lucknow.

Authorities have revealed that the arrested individuals were part of a communist terror group with connections to the outlawed Communist Party of India (CPI) Maoist outfit. The police action follows a string of investigations into reported instances of violent activities attributed to this extremist faction in the Purvanchal region.

Upon apprehension, the police discovered a cache of incriminating evidence, including Naxalite literature, handwritten messages, electronic devices, and weapons. The seized weaponry and communication devices further underline the seriousness of the allegations against the arrested individuals.

Among those taken into custody is Manju, aka Tara Devi, who was involved in a slew of incidents related to a banned organisation dating back to 2005. In addition to her association with the extremist group, she is also accused of involvement in an attempted robbery at the Madhuban Bank in Bihar, underscoring the extent of her criminal activities.

Another prominent arrest is that of Satya Prakash, who is believed to have played a key role in propagating communist ideologies and fostering a farmers’ organisation.
